The RX-series models are AIS receivers in the form of a commercially available USB stick. Therefore you can visualise AIS data on your laptop or PC.The model number RX210 is an AIS receiver with which both AIS channels can be received simultaneously as well as the own GPS position.
SEANEXX is used to receive message types defined in Rec. ITU-R M.1371-4 (04/2010) and to output them to a virtual COM port (VCP) on a PC / laptop. The data received can be presented as text or graphically with the corresponding PC software (e.g. hterm, OpenCPN). SEANEXX and the associated configuration tool work with the popular Microsoft Windows® and Linux operating systems.
Works very good. With external antena on the deck level gives about12 Nm range. Placed higher on the mast top probably can gives 20-25 Nm of range. Internal GPS works good

Now ten months since I bought it, eight emails to Seanexx, 6 emails from them, downloaded software several times, and STILL not managed to ever get anything. About to go back to sea next week & have spent twelve hours solely on the project of getting this \\\"simple,plug & play\\\" item to work on a Windows 10 computer. Support is minimal & clearly they don\\\'t actually read your inquiries.

I note that I just posted a revue with a single star rating which has magically turned itself into a three star. I guess that gives us an indication of the quality of the star rating system.

After 4 months of trying I have yet to get any useable data from this item, a stream of alphanumeric code but nothing in the way of identification, course, speed, position. What is it for?
The instructions that come with the unit are minimal and the downloadable PDF file does nothing to explain how to make the unit work as an AIS
